Cheryl DeConde Johnson provides consultation through her practice, The ADEvantage (Audiology, Deaf Education, Vantage) in various aspects of educational audiology and deaf education with a focus on accommodations and services to minimize the impact of hearing loss on communication, learning and social development. Dr. Johnson also has adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado, and the University of Arizona teaching graduate courses in educational audiology. She was formerly a special education consultant with the Colorado Department of Education where she was responsible for deaf education and audiology services. Prior to her state service, she spent 22 years in the Greeley, Colorado school district as an educational audiologist and program administrator for the deaf and hard of hearing program. Cheryl has a grown daughter who describes herself as sometimes deaf, sometimes hard of hearing.
