Nathalie de Wit, MS., MEd., TVI, is currently the Lead Teacher in the Early Learning
Center/Lower School at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown Massachusetts, USA. She
has been an Assistive Technology Specialist and has taught in self-contained pre-school and
elementary classrooms with students who are blind and have significant additional
disabilities. She also taught in a special education middle school classroom at the Colorado
School for the Deaf and the Blind, School for the Blind. Nathalie has co-authored the book
“Getting Ready for Braille! Hands-On Activities Based on a Developmental Sequence”.
Nathalie’s main interest is to further the education of students at the sensorimotor stage of
development through meeting the students where they are at and applying strategies that will
enhance the student’s understanding of the world in which they live and show how they are
making it a better place to be.
