I specialise in providing counselling services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients and their families in both English and Auslan in the Sydney area. I hold a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Sydney.
Growing up a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the lives of Deaf people and their families and some of the issues they may face.
My counselling practice includes working with adults and children on a wide variety of issues such as:
- Anxiety
- Communication
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Self-esteem
I have previously worked as the School Counsellor for Thomas Pattison School, North Rocks (Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children). At the school I worked with signing Deaf children, their families as well as teachers and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
I currently split my time between working in private practice as a counsellor, seeing Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients and working for Relationships Australia as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. In addition, I provide training in Deafness and Mental Health related topics.
