President : Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities (Round Table)

Sonali is passionate about access to information for people with a print disability, in traditional formats such as large print, braille and audio, or in newer and emerging electronic technologies.

Sonali coordinates the Alternative Format Production at RIDBC, steering the unit towards production of new formats, setting standards and improving the range and accessibility of materials produced

President of Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities, she has worked with publishers to create trusted partnerships and gain access to publisher files.

She involved in reviewing Guidelines for Producing Accessible eText published by the Round Table. These guidelines are used by government and non-government sectors in Australia and New Zealand.

Sonali was invited to be part of an expert panel to present at UNICEF and Partners’ Experts Workshop: “Principles for the Production of Accessible Digital Textbooks” The goal of the workshop was to harness appropriate teaching/learning materials and technology  to ensure all children, including children with disabilities have equitable access to textbooks and to quality learning.
